چکیده

Loudspeakers always introduce linear and nonlinear distortions in a stereo system. It is however possible to partially cancel these distortions by digitally pre-inverting the signal. We here discuss one of several possible solutions to this problem, namely the use of a linear inverse obtained from a measured ARX loudspeaker model. The inverse is obtained by well known polynomial methods as a H2-optimal feedforward lter. Due to numerical reasons, sound signals sampled at 44kHz will have to be separated into 3-6 sub-bands, to reduce the complexity of the model in each band to less than 70 poles and 70 zeros. An inverse is then implemented in each band and with this implementation, the method works well. The resulting performance is competitive to that obtained with direct adaptation of FIR pre-compensators by the idealized ltered-X algorithms, and a far shorter computation time is required for the lter tuning.

A polynomial approach to the MIMO LQ servo and disturbance rejection problems

A l~ t r~e t -A novel matrix fraction solution to the discretetime LQ stochastic tracking and servo problems is extended to the disturbance rejection problem. Unlike recent contributions, here the resulting control law at time t is given in terms of an expectation conditioned to the accessible disturbance given up to time t + k. If k is positive and large enough, the optimal feedforward input c...

Generalized Predictive Control - Part II Extensions and interpretations

By relating a novel predictive controller to LQ designs stability theorems are deduced, and extensions to Generalized Predictive Control give model following, state-dead-beat and pole-placement control objectives. Abstract-The original GMV self-tuner was later extended to provide a general framework which included feedforward compensation and user-chosen polynomials with detuned model reference...

On adaptive trajectory tracking of a robot manipulator using inversion of its neural emulator

This paper is concerned with the design of a neuro-adaptive trajectory tracking controller. The paper presents a new control scheme based on inversion of a feedforward neural model of a robot arm. The proposed control scheme requires two modules. The first module consists of an appropriate feedforward neural model of forward dynamics of the robot arm that continuously accounts for the changes i...

Inversion-based feedforward-feedback control: theory and implementation to high-speed atomic force microscope imaging

In this dissertation, a suite of inversion-based feedforward-feedback control techniques are developed and applied to achieve high speed AFM imaging. In the last decade, great efforts have been made in developing the inversion-based feedforward control as an effective approach for precision output tracking. Such efforts are facilitated by the fruitful results obtained in the stable-inversion th...
